homtini farm
Nestled in the heart of Rheenendal, between the indigenous Knysna Forest and the Rheenendal Settlement, Homtini Farm fosters important ties between people and land.
REGENERATION
Homtini Farm reaches beyond just organic. We focus on building soil through regenerative practices and because of this healthy, diverse soil our blueberries are outstanding in terms of taste and nutrition.
Our cattle have been grazing in a regenerative, intensive grazing system since 2024 with the aim of building topsoil and increasing the diversity of wild grasses, as well as the multitude of insects and wildlife that inhabit their ecosystem.
why choose organic?
Organically produced fruit contains up to 68% more antioxidants, and lower concentrations of pesticides and toxic heavy metals (like cadmium) than non-organic.
At Homtini we apply our homemade organic compost and woodchip mulch to the blueberries and only spray compost tea made from our compost. Our clean-up crew of ducks performs most of the pest management and fertilisation work in the field.
By choosing Homtini Farm, you support local community efforts and sustainable agriculture, with produce grown using organic methods and a commitment to soil regeneration.
